‘Ireland in Music’ is a new film that captures and showcases some of the country’s top musicians performing at Ireland’s most spectacular locations, including the Cliffs of Moher and the Burren in County Clare.
Four-hundred-and-fifty years of local government in County Clare was celebrated at glór this evening (14th December, 2020) with the launch of a new publication by Clare County Council.
Clare County Council, in partnership with the Michael Cusack Visitor Centre and the Government of Ireland, has officially opened the Cusack Hub and Broadband Connection Point at the Michael Cusack Centre in Carron, County Clare.
Clare Fire and Rescue Service respond to numerous incidents during the Christmas period every year.
According to Adrian Kelly, Chief Fire Officer, Clare County Fire and Rescue Service, "The main causes of fire during the festive season are candles left unprotected, fairy lights left on all night or improperly wired, Christmas trees falling over, open fires without fireguards and decorations catching fire."
Open fires are used for longer periods during the Christmas period as people spend a lot more time at home. Electrical items and extension leads are used more. Add in flammable decorations, candles and alcohol and it becomes apparent that the risks increase during the festive season.
The Tourism Department in Clare County Council has produced a special Experience Clare 2021 Holiday Calendar with the objective of encouraging visitors to choose County Clare as the destination for their holiday breaks, when it is safe to do so.
Clare County Library has announced an enhanced range of activities during December to facilitate access to Library services and to celebrate the festive season.
As the Christmas 2020 season gets underway, Ennis Municipal District is delighted to welcome people into Ennis Town Centre, where free parking, pedestrian friendly streets and an abundance of traditional Yuletide cheer will put a pep in the step of Christmas shoppers.
Clare Youth Action was awarded a major prize at the all-Ireland Pride of Place awards on Saturday, 21st November.
Sports clubs in Clare will receive €70,276.38 under the latest round of funding announced by Sport Ireland. The funding will be distributed in Clare by Clare Sports Partnership.
